Jiaqing Chen (陈家卿) is a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Randolph College, where he teaches courses in Computer Science and Cybersecurity. He recently earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Arizona State University's VADER Lab, advised by Dr. Ross Maciejewski.
His research focuses on advancing AI for Science by bridging scientific machine learning, topological data analysis, and visual analytics to enhance model interpretability and human-AI trust.
With a strong foundation in scalable data systems, Jiaqing completed three consecutive research internships at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), working with the Machine Learning & Analytics Group and the Usable Data Systems Group on large-scale scientific challenges through uncertainty quantification and efficient data pipelines.
